4 weeks - baby's circulation is established & heartbeat starts.

8 weeks - head & limb buds are formed.


#foetus 12 weeks
12 weeks - {placenta} is almost completely formed. The weight of the {fetus} is now about 13 grams (1/2oz), which is 2,000,000 times the weight at conception!!


#foetus 16 weeks
The baby is fully formed by 16 weeks but unable to live independently of its mother until 26-28 weeks & even then, only with the assistance of a special care baby unit.

Head to bottom length is about 6.5 inches (16cm).
